The search for LA woman Terrilyn Monette came to a tragic end with the discovery of her submerged car on June 8, 2013 -- with a decomposing body inside of it. Officials in New Orleans say that the body was so decomposed that there was no way to tell if it was male or female, but it is strongly believed that the remains are indeed the missing teacher who vanished in the early morning hours of March 2nd of this year. An official identification hasn't been made, but the woman's mother and other family member were present at the scene of the discovery -- and it turns out that they are none too happy with officials.

The discovery was made in a bayou in a location that she would have had to cross while driving home from the bar (where she was last seen). It's presumed that she was intoxicated  at the time -- after planning to sleep in her car before driving home. However, security footage showed her leaving the bar.

The search for Terrilyn Monette was a high profile effort with numerous avenues of speculation. Was she kidnapped? Did she get lost? Did someone she know harm her and conceal the crime? As it turns out, these questions will all be answered, but it's an unfortunate probability that the missing woman died by means of a single-car-accident, brought on by her intoxication. It's a sad ending, and one that nobody wanted -- but it's truly a more positive one than what previous avenues of speculation offered.
