Florida child dead after obese family member sat on her

An eight-year-old Florida girl is dead in a bizarre case of child abuse, and her own cousin is accused of causing her death. The Dreamin' Demon reports that 64-year-old Veronica Posey has been charged with cruelty toward a child, and homicide, after she sat on the child to "punish" her.

Police in Pensacola say that the unnamed child was being unruly, and her 69-year-old mother (yes, 69-year-old mother) couldn't get control of her. The elderly mom recruited the help of Posey, who is 325 lbs., to discipline the eight-year-old Florida child.

Posey allegedly beat the little girl with a ruler and a metal pipe, before sitting on top of her in a chair. She sat on the child for over 10 minutes, admitting that the little girl said that she couldn't breathe. When she did decide to pick her fat ass off of the child, it was too late.

It's no surprise to learn that the Florida Department of Children and Families has had run-ins with this family in the past. It's just a shame to know that they weren't able to intervene with the raising of this child before it was too late. Now she's dead, after suffering a horrifying and bizarre suffocation death. Will there be justice for this little girl?
