I don't like flinging accusations blatantly, but it looks like Heather's divorce attorney and best friend are doing enough of that to where it wouldn't matter if I did.
It looks to me like Chris Jones did something to her. I think he fabricated the email she supposedly sent to him after vanishing, and I think he posed as her to send an email to her friend. I think that this has been apparent from the beginning when it was revealed that she had already sought a restraining order against him.
Maybe these are all a bunch of coincidences, but I don't trust Chris Jones.
