Holly Bobo's Purse: A Disturbing New Development

4/18/2013: The search for Holly Bobo is far from over, and my previous assertions of her disappearance becoming a cold case have been dashed. It can't be cold if new evidence keeps turning up, right? Today it was confirmed that a purse discovered yesterday does indeed belong to the missing woman -- who vanished in April of 2011.

Read my analysis of this case spanning over two years!

As you can see by the photo, it's a weathered mess of muted brown fabric. Here's the thing:The purse used to be pink. It's obvious that this purse has been well hidden -- possibly with other evidence -- but the appearance and the location in which it was located concerns me. There's no doubt that this purse has been exposed to the sun after being wet and dry more than once. The coloration is very similar to the coloration achieved through bleaching, which is why it's called "sun bleached." On the other hand, it wouldn't be too far fetched to consider the possibility that someone bleached the item to rid it of evidence before disposing of it. That's just a theory, though.

I want to assert that it's been buried, but it doesn't really look dirty, does it? There doesn't appear to be any obvious signs of mud, dirt or debris. It just looks mildew-eaten and faded, like it's been wet and then exposed in the sun possibly smashed against the ground at least a year -- maybe two years, though I am not convinced of this. Without physically examining this item I can't make a fully analysis, but this is certainly questionable and I hope forensic experts truly look over it thoroughly.

As for the location:

The purse was found one mile south of Holly Bobo's home, which differs greatly from the other evidence found in her disappearance. As written in this Gather News article, Holly's lunchbox and other items of interest were located approximately six miles north of the Bobo property in the beginning of the case. So what does this tell us?

For starters, it indicates that someone has taken measures to conceal evidence and throw investigators and volunteers off of their tracks by planting evidence in opposite directions of one another. The duct tape with Holly's blonde hair found six miles north with her lunchbox might not even be related to where she was actually taken by her captor - IF she was even kidnapped in the first place as Clint Bobo claims.

Why would this purse be located a mile south of her home, by her neighbors, but other items found several miles north in the beginning of the search? What kinds of explanations can you come up with? Sound off in the comments below!
