The now-deceased man and his wife supposedly worked in Portugal, near the apartment where Madeleine McCann vanished, in 2007. Of course, this isn't the first time detectives have targeted a dead man as a potential suspect in her case. A man in 2016 was targeted, and that lead went absolutely nowhere. It seems that there's a pattern in Scotland Yard detectives looking at dead guys as their suspects. Could it be because dead men can't defend themselves or speak out against any evidence that may suddenly come up against them?
The fact of the matter is that there has never been any evidence of an abduction in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. This is why her parents were declared suspects early on in the search for her. To this day, evidence has never come to light that indicates an abduction took place the night Maddie vanished. The parents continue to avoid taking polygraph tests, and they continue to push the rhetoric that someone kidnapped their daughter -- which would have never have even happened, had they not left her by herself while they were out partying with friends.
This case is a mess, and detectives have wasted millions in taxpayer funds on this fruitless search for a girl that may never be found. Meanwhile, the two prime suspects flaunt their freedoms under the noses of the people who continue to fund these searches. Will things ever change in the search for Madeleine McCann? With over a decade past, it's probably safe to say it won't.
