Elaina Steinfurth case: Why does this seem so cut-and-dry?

June 9, 2013: The disappearance of Elaina Steinfurth is a full week old, yet it seems that the media coverage of her case hasn't grabbed America's attention like it should be. This is, after all, an adorable baby girl whose mother claims was kidnapped. The case is very similar to other missing baby cases -- such as the ever-notorious Ayla Reynolds disappearance. So why the apparent lack of interest? Could it be because the case looks like a cut-and-dry example of a custody dispute gone wrong? If it's so cut-and-dry then why hasn't there been any movement in that direction by law enforcement in Ohio?

This ABC 13 News report shares that officials have no new leads in the search for little Elaina. However, the search is continuing with several volunteers in the area. They are focusing searches just a few houses up from where Elaina reportedly vanished.

Angela Steinfurth -- the missing infant's mother -- was not present at searches this weekend, which is odd considering the case is only a week old. Her behavior has been suspicious from the start, though, so even though it's odd it's not surprising that she was absent. It seems that officials are ignoring the mother on the surface, but hopefully they're watching her with eagle eyes.
