Norton Shores, Michigan: Jessica Heeringa remains missing and officials are convinced that she was abducted while closing up shop at the Exxon station that employed her. Day three is now at its end and there are still no answers to the many questions circulating about her case. The following post is a sort of timeline of events leading up to and after the woman's disappearance in hopes of helping piece together a scene. Investigators are doing their own job of this for sure, but this is intended for the interest of the public. Please feel free to comment at the bottom of the post to help me fill in any missing gaps.
Friday, April 26, 2013, 2:00 p.m. (approx.): Jessica (reportedly) leaves for work to begin her shift at the Exxon station at 1196 E. Sternberg Rd.
Friday, April 26, 2013, (approx) 10:15 to 10:30 p.m.: Jesse Ammerman (a regular customer who "knows Jessica well") Was at the Exxon station. Has been "cleared" as a person of interest. He reportedly took a polygraph test. He did not see a silver minivan or the suspect in the sketch. May be one of the last people to see her.
Friday, April 26, 2013, 10: 46 p.m., silver car/minivan captured on surveillance of nearby business. This is believed to be the minivan (Chrysler Town & Country) involved in the kidnapping of the missing woman.
Friday, April 26, 2013, 10: 51 p.m.,: Jessica makes her last transaction. The customer associated with this transaction has been cleared -- according to Ann Marie LaFlamme
Friday, April 26, 2013: 11:04 p.m.,: Second bit of surveillance footage from another business shows van.
Friday, April 26, 2013: 11:07 p.m.,: Customer arrives to find store empty, calls 911 after briefly looking around/calling out.
Friday, April 26, 2013, 11:15 p.m.,: Norton Shores Police Department called to Exxon station after customers called 911. They had entered the store and found no employees present. Jessica Heeringa could not be located. Mysterious substance found at the scene, being tested. Police unsure if it's blood or not.
Saturday, April 27, 2013, between 7:30 and 7:45 a.m.,: Gun shots heard. Police NOT SURE if shots connected to disappearance.
Monday, April 29, 2013, 8:27 p.m.: Norton Shores Police Department released a surveillance video (from a bar nearby the Exxon station) showing what may be the silver minivan, though the footage is very distorted. No license plates are visible.
Tuesday, April 30, 2013, 7:37 a.m.: Norton Shores Police Department released a composite sketch of the man believed to be the kidnapper.
Tuesday, April 30, 2013: 6:00 p.m.: Vigil held
Wednesday, May 1, 2013: Person of interest (driver of silver van) questioned and given polygraph test.Later released.
Thursday, May 2, 2013: Person of interest (driver of silver van) questioned a second time. Released.
Friday, May 3, 2013: Person of interest (driver of silver van) no longer focus of investigation.
