It's verging on two years since Lauren vanished after partying with friends in Bloomington, Ind., and the questions that remain today are the same as they were in the first week. Was she kidnapped, or do one of her so called "friends" know more about what happened to her? With the selective amnesia of acquaintance Corey Rossman thrown into the speculation, it's hard to ignore the possibility that he's lying. Nonetheless, the elements surrounding the story also fit the scenario perfect for a stranger abduction
The search for Lauren Spierer continues with nearly two years behind us. It's a bittersweet feeling after remains found in Brown County were identified as belonging to Kate McGrayel -- an IU graduate who vanished a year prior to Lauren. It's fortunate that the loved ones of Kate McGrayel have closure knowing that she is no longer missing, but now it's time to find out how she died, what happened to her -- and if someone murdered her or not.
As for Lauren, it's easy to lose hope after so much time has past, and the recent stories of remains being located (of women missing an equal amount of time), it only makes this more of a disappointment. However, the day will come that Lauren will be found and then the mystery will be closer to its solution.
